Today's Tech: 3D Printing

3D printers are becoming more and more popular with each passing year. A 3D printer is a machine that allows you to print a three-dimensional object without the use of dies, moulds or machining. There are endless possibilities that a 3D printer can provide.

Here are some amazing examples of what can be made with 3D printing:

3D printed Room by Michael Hansmeyer and Benjamin Dillenburger

This human scale architectural is constructed entirely by 3D printed out of sandstone. It measures 3.2 meters tall and 16 square meters wide.

The room was printed in large pieces and assembled in on day.

3D printed Car

Everything on the car that could be integrated into a single material piece has been printed. This includes the chassis/frame, exterior body, and some interior features. The mechanical components of the vehicle, like battery, motors, wiring, and suspension, are sourced from Renault’s Twizy, an electric powered city car.

3D Printed Art

3D Printed lamp

Forms in Nature is an artwork with a light source surrounded by a tree and root system which can cast shadows of a forest throughout the room. It took about 8 hours of 3D printing.

3D Printed Toys

Custom toys can be made using a 3D printer. You can download or create your own design and easily print it.

Holus allows your 3D model to be visualized before it actually gets printed. You can use Holus to understand the look and feel of the 3D object and discover what needs to be fixed beforehand. Pair Holus with a 3D printer to allow your 3D workflow to be much more smooth and seamless.
